Mt. Eerie (yes that guy phil from the Microphones) is playing the POZEN center this Sat. with 3 other bands. I believe this is all thanks to EVENTWORKS (a SGA group you can be involved with). Show time is at 7pm and i'm not clear on the price.
Graffic design is putting together a show "Democracy" which will be up right before elections and are interested in any politically motivated art. There will be posters up with more info or you can email: gds.massart@gmail.com
The Iron Pour group is getting together a fundraiser Oct. 14th (full moon!) in the courtyard, with movies and other things. The Actual pour will be Oct. 24th and they will light up at 6pm and tap at 7pm. This is a VERY cool event and a club you can be involved with. If you've taken foundry you can be involved with the pour process.
The freshman are now getting together a SGA meeting time so they can participate in the happenings around school. This is important if you want to include/inform/involve studio foundations with anything happening around school. It's a great thing. They will now be meeting in Tower Auditorium on Mondays from 1-2pm.
FYI crystal transport bus trips just raised their prices- due to an increase in gas. Trips to NYC are now priced at $1850 per bus.
Mass art now has a basketball club and there is a fundraiser for the upcoming game- We're playing against RISD. whoo! The team doesn't yet have a name and i think is still looking for players/pep rally or any involvement. The fundraiser will be Oct. 8th in Pozen . The first game will be November 15th at 2pm.
Interesting catering option: TJ's Pizzeria formerly TJ Scallywags the VEGAN spot by twin doughnuts and Grasshopper has now been taken over and is a collective run by the workers and supported by the IWW(i don't have time to explain but there is an interesting history i encourage you to google or wiki it). They are very interested in catering to large groups- which is a good option for art shows as it provides a more patron friendly option.
There are plenty of other things happening please check the SGA min. on the massart page. for more info.
