Hey y'all!
Tomorrow night (thurs Feb 19), 6pm, at the MFA is the annual Squeeling Pegs animation show. I highly recommend checking it out.
On Monday Feb 23. before the judith lecture, the senior class will be having a vote on the book cover! Yeay! I wish i had the images to put up on line for view, hopfully we'll be able to get some.
So the All School Show is drawing near.
get ready.
There are interesting and exciting changes.
First and foremost we'll be in the Arnhiem Gallery again this year and SHARING the space with The Glass Department! I"m excited about this and think it will really give us a new way to look at our work. This is why only 2-yes TWO pieces will be able to be submitted. Glass has some wall pieces and last year was really cramped just with photo. Good. News is that by sharing we can also secure more/ better snacks and beverages. AND the Big school auction is the same night right next door. Hopfully this will bring a ton of fancy people our way straying from that gallery. I want to strongly incourage people to submit non 2d photo driven pieces. I know last semester alone I saw some really interesting pieces that were 3d. I think it would be nice to have some photo floor pieces to mix in.
the show will be hung by Sunday night of March 22- that is basically set in stone.
the reception is Wed. March 25 from 6-9pm. and the show will be deinstalled March 27th.
Jurying will be March 3. Please bring your work to the faculty office between 8am- and 4:30pm. Attach your info to the piece or it will not be in the show:
Name, contact, dimensions, medium, title and year
Your work will be available to pick up on the 4th. That way everyone has time to get their work matted and framed or whatever professional presentation is necessary.
Everyone is expected to bring their own work down to the Arnhiem ready to hang and clearly labeled Saturday March 21 no later than noon. Again, if this isn't possible make arrangements with a friend or as a last result talk to me. Any exceptions to this are likely to be omitted from the show. Deinstallation will be Friday night March 27th.
