TOBIN COMMUNITY CENTER MURAL PROJECT
Need: 2 Teaching Assistants
Must: Be Work Study Eligible, Have Painting or Muraling Experience, Have an interest in working with youth/teens

Tobin Community Center (1481 Tremont Street, Walking Distance from MassArt) is part of the Boston Centers for Youth and Families Network. Serving Mission Hill and Jamaica Plain residents of all ages, the Center sees tons of foot traffic and hosts community and youth organizations like MissionSAFE.

The mural project will take place in the community room of Tobin. This is a large space, and requires lots of work and supervision. Lead Artist Alex Cooke will work with a select group of youth on the design. Teaching Assistants are needed to help the youth in working on the mural, and of course, to do some painting as well.

Work days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4-6pm. Please contact tina.hinojosa@massart.edu if interested. Even if you are unable to do all three days each week, I’d still like to hear from you!

KIDS 2 COLLEGE
Need: 2 College Ambassadors
Must: Be interested in speaking with 7th graders about the college experience. Have an interest in art education. This doesn’t require that you be an art ed major. (the classroom teacher we are working with would like to do a science project using art. He can supply the curriculum, but wants to put an arts-spin on it).

Kids2College is a unique program that exposes low-income and minority students to the value and accessibility of a higher education. It is the only free, national program that engages local colleges for a memorable introduction to college. MassArt has partnered with Mission Hill School’s seventh grade teaching staff to bring college students to the classroom, and eventually bring the younger students to MassArt for a college visit.

Two College Student Ambassadors are needed to accompany MassArt staff to visit with the students on their home turf, and then to host the students at MassArt in late April. The times and dates are TBD, but this is a very short term commitment (ie, a total of about 10 hours over the spring semester). Please contact tina.hinojosa@massart.edu if interested.

There is some money to be made doing shoots for Titelist (from what i can tell this is something golf related) contact John Paul Doguin @ jdoguin@arn.com
